There’s almost no major industry that modern AI (Artifical Intelligence) hasn’t already affected. That is especially true in the past few years as data collection and analysis has increased, thanks to the incredible IoT connectivity, the ever-increasing number of connected devices and the ever-speedier computer processing!
India being the fastest-growing economy with the second largest population in the world has a significant stake in this AI revolution. Therefore, the Indian government has launched an online AI portal to share the recent developments in this sector including start-ups, VC funds, research bodies, big tech companies and educational institutions.
Origin of IndiaAI
The National Artificial Intelligence Portal, also known as IndiaAI, was launched in 2020. It has been developed by the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) and supported by the National e-Governance Division of MeitY.
IndiaAI will reinforce the ability of AI for various stakeholders in utilizing data-driven innovation. It will also propagate case studies, datasets, research reports, training programs in this field.
How IndiaAI came into the picture?
After the introduction of the National Strategy for artificial intelligence discussion paper, the government identified priority areas, which resulted in creating this artificial intelligence portal. After finding out about the AI portal, the industry experts have expressed positive reviews. They believe that it will bring forward the ecosystem and R&D measures in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
Covid-19 has brought technology to the forefront. According to NASSCOM, the portal is a converging point for the companies, entrepreneurs and the government for nationwide sourcing and sharing of best AI ideas. PathPartner was invited to share their success story on boosting road safety by detecting drowsy and distracted drivers through AI. You can read the informative case study here.
