Implementation of Opus Codec on DM816x SoC of Texas Instruments
Opus audio codec is increasingly considered for high-end video-conferencing application. PathPartner’s OPUS solution solves OEM’s main point by making OPUS available on ARM with proxy APIs and actual processing happening on the powerful DSPs.
By optimizing Opus codec on TI C674x floating-point DSP, we were able to achieve 5.1
channel real-time encoding and decoding with floating-point code.
This document sheds light on the following points:
- Introduction to Opus Codec
- Optimization of OPUS Codec on C674x VLIW DSP
- Integration of OPUS Codec to RPE
- Design and Execution
- Testing and Validation
- Conclusion of the project
